Whenever I put this faux fur vest on, I feel like I have a million bucks. For real. Can a vest be considered a power suit? 

I've actually been wanting a vest like this for awhile, so when I found it at my beloved Burlington Coat Factory I was pretty excited. It's so perfect for Georgia winters where one day can go from 60 degrees to 32 degrees in a few hours.

FYI y'all. The hubs shot this look. He's come such a long way! I'm super grateful for a hubby that is willing to grow along with this little style blog I call mine.

Clearance Gem

Hey my friends!

Let me introduce you to my new favorite top! I found it tucked away in the clearance section a couple months ago at Burlington Coat Factory. It's super fun and I can't resist twirling once or twice while I'm wearing it!
One of the things that I love about shopping clearance is not just the great deals you can find but also the unique pieces people avoid because they are too "out there" to try. To be honest, when I picked this up I wasn't sure that it would work. Thankfully, my mom convinced me to try it on. I'm so grateful for her! This is why you should always try something on before crossing it off your list.

Snow Magic

Hey my friends!
This time last week I was wrapped up cozy in a cabin in the North GA mountains. The snow was falling and I had a cup of homemade hot cocoa in my hands. It was the perfect getaway with some my closest friends. Here are a couple pics from when I ventured outside.

So I meant to take outfit pics in the snow with this coat but I had forgotten to pack it. My memory sometimes doesn’t like me much. 

I have to say that this coat has been a winner this season. I picked it up last spring when it was on deep discount at Forever 21. It’s pretty versatile but also interesting enough to be (what I consider)  a statement piece! I won’t be wearing it much this weekend however since the weather is going back into the 60s and 70s. Georgia can’t make up her mind.

10 more sleeps til Christmas

I hope your week has started well!

Please tell me you got the title reference! I have to say that I love Christmas. Halloween is my favorite holiday, but Christmas definitely holds a special place in my heart. From the gift giving, to the parties, and the abundance of yummy food; there is so much magic about this time of year. But with that magic comes the dreaded decisions of what to gift and what to wear. So I thought I would share my choices for Christmas this year to hopefully give some inspiration!

Gifts for Girlfriends: The older I get, the harder it is to shop for close friends and family. When you’re buying gifts for kids, a trip to the local toy store is really all you need. But shopping for grown women with varying tastes is often incredibly frustrating. This year I decided to give gifts with a personalized twist! There are so many shops in Etsy that will personalize jewelry any way you want! (I love Stamped and Finch, mentioned here)

You could go classic with initials or more creative like the coordinates of your favorite beach for girls’ trip! Either way, it’s something that most people will love. Note: Not much time left to get things delivered for Christmas! If this is your choice, you should hurry!

Party Outfits: I love to sparkle for any type of holiday gathering. This year I have several Christmas parties, family gatherings, and my favorite – a New Year’s Eve Party! Here I am for my company’s Christmas party:

The Joys of Shopping Local

Hey my friends!

This past weekend my church hosted an artist market for local craftsmen to come and sell their wares. It was so fun and the hubs and I went a little wild. (Ooops) We just love the fact that we were supporting people in our own community while getting gorgeous and unique artwork. Like this necklace! I bought it premade because it fits my personality so well (I love being married), but Stamped and Finch are able to customize the bar to say whatever you want! I'm pretty sure I sent at least 5 people there after my purchase, I highly recommend them.

I also got this clutch which I plan to wear at my company's holiday party this weekend. It's adorable but it also has such a great story behind it. The organization Peace of Thread employs refugee women to make beautiful one of a kind bags and helps them to start a new life. Each one even includes a card about the woman who made it and a bit of her story. I cannot express how much I love this. Doing good always feels good and when you throw in fashion, I can't get enough! And they're based literally in my backyard! Are there any organizations that inspire you? I would love to hear about it, especially during this time of year!

Currently Craving: Fall Layers

Hey my friends!!

This is the time of year that I'm most excited about. The leaves change, the air gets cooler, and people start to prep for the holidays! I've already started prepping for my favorite holiday (more on that another day).

What I'm especially excited about is updating my wardrobe this fall! I love all the possibilities that come with cooler weather. Layering has a way of elevating an outfit and sometimes it's just not possible in the sweltering summer here in Atlanta. Here are some layers that I'm currently craving:

1. Neutral Tote: I am a sucker for a new fall purse. I love using snake-skin as a neutral. It goes with everything yet is still interesting enough on its own to be a statement piece.

2. Plaid Cape: Channeling Olivia Pope for feminine outwear! Plaid adds a bit of edge.

3. Faux Fur Vest: These look so fun when done the right way! I'm hoping to find one that doesn't make me look like a muppet.

4. Faux Leather Jacket: I'm ashamed to say that I don't own of of these essential items. I honestly don't know why! They look good on anyone and add a touch of 'cool' like nothing else can.

I'm back!!! I never thought 2 weeks without internet could be so torturous, but I have been dying to share this look with you. 

I've been searching for a jumpsuit for a while now, it's been that elusive piece that looks great on everyone but me. You know what I mean? I had all about given up on finding one when I ran across this beauty at Burlington Coat Factory. I fell in love. It fits me so well and feels like PJs. Win. Double win. Plus, I always get compliments when I wear it. Triple win. So I guess this is a lesson in perserverence my friends. Never give up. Your next fab piece might be waiting for you where you least expect it.

Weekend in Lousiana Pt. 1

Hey my friends!

So recently (actually more like a month ago), the hubs and I took a quick trip to NOLA to celebrate a friend's birthday by doing all the things he loved. We had such a great time! We explored the French Quarter (with beignets in hand), formed a biker gang, and chowed down on some sno-balls. That was just the first day. More about day 2 later this week :-)

I wore this outfit that whole day and let me tell you...it was a good decision. These pants feel like PJs and are also super breathable (NOLA is quite humid), so I felt comfy and cute the whole day! Score.
