Seeing Double

Hey my friends!
I've been meaning to tell this story for awhile now but you know...procrastination.
So in October, I was waiting for my newest Rocksbox set to arrive while checking the tracking info religiously. After I should have already received my jewels, my local post office said that it was not able to deliver the box as packaged. I was pretty bummed, I had already peeked to see what the set would be and I was really looking forward to wearing all the pieces that they sent! I immediately emailed Rocksbox's customer service since I wanted to make sure they knew that I didn't have the box. They were so sweet and kind and offered to send another box straight away!
Long story short (too late) = Both Rocksboxes ended up in my mailbox somehow! I'm not sure if the mailman suddenly had a change of heart or what but who cares! Two boxes of sparkles to wear! Here's what they sent:

Box #1
Gorjana Crescent Shimmer Necklace | Sophie Harper Pavé Spiral Ring in Gold | Gorjana Matte Circle Ear Climber

Box #2
House of Harlow 1960 Native Legend Cuff in Turquoise | Jenny Bird Palm Cili Collar in Gold | Leslie Francesca Square Druzy Studs in Blue

I really loved both boxes but I think my favorites were the druzy studs. They were incredibly versatile! I've linked to some similar items in case you saw an item you couldn't live without!

Jump Around

Hey my friends!
I'm back!!! I never thought 2 weeks without internet could be so torturous, but I have been dying to share this look with you.
I've been searching for a jumpsuit for a while now, it's been that elusive piece that looks great on everyone but me. You know what I mean? I had all about given up on finding one when I ran across this beauty at Burlington Coat Factory. I fell in love. It fits me so well and feels like PJs. Win. Double win. Plus, I always get compliments when I wear it. Triple win. So I guess this is a lesson in perserverence my friends. Never give up. Your next fab piece might be waiting for you where you least expect it.

Casual Friday

Hey my friends!
The end of the week is here! Hooray! I hope you have some fun things planned (maybe some time by a pool with a good book?) We'll be celebrating my hubby's birthday with some yummy food and great friends. Happy Friday, y'all. (Happy Birthday, Harry)

Rocksbox Review July 2015

Hey my friends!
I hope this week has been good so far! What did y'all think of that Bachelorette finale last night? Agh, the show sucks me in more that I would like to admit!

I received my Rocksbox for this month and I have to say, other than the new ribbon color, it's a bit underwhelming.

1. Ashiana London Teardrop Pendent Necklace in Aqua:  This necklace is like, really pretty. The metal is the right color (gold) and aqua is one of my favorite colors period. I think my main probably with it is that it is shorter than I would like. In order to wear it at an acceptable length, I have to attach it with the last chain link. Nah, not for me.

2. Gorjana Paso Ring: Yes. Yes. Yes. This ring makes up for the "ho-hum' pieces in this box. Dainty and interesting. Keeping it!

3. Nakamol Cream and Gold Wrap Bracelet: What the heck? Seriously, though. What is this? Wearing this is out of the question. It looks like I took a headband and just wrapped it around my wrist. Is this the fashion these days? Am I getting old guys? Not for me.

I've already sent this box back after having it for a whopping 4 days. I guess the stylists at Rocksbox can't get it right every time. (I did buy the Gorjana ring so it's not a total failure)

Wedding Wear Part 1

Hey my friends!
I love weddings. I really do. I love the romance and fun and community that go along with them. I also love the chance to dress up and dance the night away to cheesy wedding music. This week, I’ll be sharing two of my favorite looks for weddings this year. Especially the ones outdoors!
Disclaimer: Both looks feature this hat because I simply cannot get enough of it!

Don’t you just love the sweetness of this dress? I got it at a clothing swap earlier this year and knew it would be perfect for all sorts of summer activities. I paired it with some floral wedges to keep the look somewhat dressy while maintaining a modest vibe. (TBH, I can’t dance the night away in heels that are sky high!) I think this look will also be perfect for resort dinners later this month (hooray vacay!)

Rocksbox Review #6

Hey my friends!
Happy Monday!
So I've actually had this box for a while. Like 2 weeks. Oops! Unintentional blogger break. Seriously guys, this 9 to 5 is starting to get in the way of the things I love. (Like sharing the fun accessories I got with you!) Here's what I got in the box:

1. Wanderlust + Co Hammered Metal Spiral Gold Ring: This baby has been on my finger nonstop since the day I got it. I love it so so so much. My favorite part about it is that it gives the illusion of wearing several rings at the same time and that I effortlessly stacked them in a perfect manner. No doubt it is staying with me!

2. Gorjana Esme Cutout Studs: Studs again! I may or may not be changing my mind about studs and it's all because of Rocksbox! They've done such a great job picking such cute and unique ones that I'm starting to see the appeal!

3. Urban Gem Victoria Necklace: This necklace is beautiful to look at. That's about it. It doesn't sit too well on my neck which bums me out because I really wanted it to work. Oh well.

That's it for this box friends! Have you had a chance to try Rockbox yet? Let me know!

Burgundy Skater Dress

Hey my friends!
Hope you had a fulfilling week! Mine wasn't the best but it was better than last week so I'll take it!
I am currently in love with this dress. I bought it to wear in the fall but it didn't exactly fit right back then. I've been trying to eat healthy and workout more (which is so hard..why is it so hard?) and since then have been able to fit into the dress more comfortably! I know this color is more traditionally for fall or winter but I couldn't care less. I love how comfy it is. Do y'all have something that you like to wear regardless of the "appropriate" season? Let me know!

Juice of a grapefruit

Rocksbox #4 Review

Hey my friends!
I hope everyone had an amazing Easter. The hubs and I had a fun time serving in the nursery at church and hanging with friends after. I was so content with life and knowing that my King conquered death. He's amazing y'all.

I got my 4th Rocksbox in the mail just in time for Celebration Sunday and my colorful outfit. (Coming Soon)
This box is on FIRE!
I love it so much! Every piece is exactly something that I would pick out for myself.

1. Trina Turk Hexagon Bib Necklace: This is such a beautiful necklace! The colors are so fun and tropical. Plus they look great against my skin. I can't wait to experiment with the different ways I can wear this!

2. Anuja Tolia Blue Stone Cuff: Y'all know how I feel about bangles. This one is so pretty and went perfectly with my Easter outfit. I could honestly see myself keeping this one. I'll see how I feel when I get ready to send the box back.

3. Gorjana Leda Studs: I love that these studs are a statement on their own! They curve up in a really feminine way. Not too big but just enough to be noticed.

I'm really happy with this box, especially since the last one didn't really "wow" me. I think I'll be holding on to this one for a while since I like everything so much.
FYI - If you're interested in Rocksbox at all, let me know and I can get you your first month free!

Rocksbox #3 Review

Hey my friends!
Happy Friday eve! I got my third Rocksbox in the mail earlier this week and here are the goodies that were inside:

1. Perry Street Selina Crystal Necklace: I have wanted this necklace ever since I saw that it was available for request. It's so glamorous and sparkly! Driving home yesterday, I found that when the sun hits it just right I get rainbows all over the car ceiling. MINI RAINBOWS! I got excited. The only downside to this necklace is that fact that the silver shade doesn't really compliment my skin.

2. Sophie Harper Pave Taner Bar Mini Studs: These are cute but not really revolutionary. I like studs but don't wear them often enough to get really excited about these. Once again, not too keen on the silver color.

3. Gorjana Shimmer Disc Ring in Gold: This is so pretty and delicate! It's definitely a feminine piece. I'll enjoy it while I have it but I don't think I'll keep it. This is the type of thing that will get lost before next year. So teeny tiny!

That's it for now my dears. Please enjoy your weekend!

Brown Girl Reading

Hey my friends!
I hope you all are having a great week! I know I am. Nothing particularly special about it (other than warmer temperatures, thank you Jesus), I just decided to be happier this week. I'm doing things I love and working out more. Notice how those two are not the same.
One thing that I love and don't do enough of is reading. I have loved to read since I was a little girl and my mom took me to the library every Friday. Now that I'm older, I find other things demanding the attention that reading once owned. So while I still love it, I've found that picking up a book is something I do only every couple months. I've told myself to be better and read more than a few good books this year.
Brown Girl Dreaming has become a favorite of mine. I picked it up in Barnes and Noble, read a couple lines, and bought it immediately. It's that good y'all. Jackie Woodson does a beautiful job of telling her life story as a young African American girl growing up in the South during the 60s. And she does it in free verse. I cried several times at how wonderful she is at capturing feelings with just a few words. Ugh, so good.
Are you reading anything good? Anything that moves you? Let me know!
