Casual Friday

Hey my friends!
The end of the week is here! Hooray! I hope you have some fun things planned (maybe some time by a pool with a good book?) We'll be celebrating my hubby's birthday with some yummy food and great friends. Happy Friday, y'all. (Happy Birthday, Harry)

Weekend in Lousiana Pt. 1

Hey my friends!
So recently (actually more like a month ago), the hubs and I took a quick trip to NOLA to celebrate a friend's birthday by doing all the things he loved. We had such a great time! We explored the French Quarter (with beignets in hand), formed a biker gang, and chowed down on some sno-balls. That was just the first day. More about day 2 later this week :-)
I wore this outfit that whole day and let me tell you...it was a good decision. These pants feel like PJs and are also super breathable (NOLA is quite humid), so I felt comfy and cute the whole day! Score.
Props to my girl Ashley for taking these photos!

Here, There, Everywhere

Hey my friends!
I don't know if you know this about me or not but I love to travel. Seriously. On my way home from a getaway, I'm planning the next one. Thankfully, I have lots of fun trips planned for the summer so the wanderlust is somewhat satiated.
I think I'm going to love traveling in this fringe-y cardigan. It's that perfect mix between not too hot and not too cold that keeps one comfortable on a frigid plane or a windy day. I'm sure I could also make it work over a swimsuit!
Have a happy Tuesday and do something that makes you smile.

Panama! Panama!

Hey my friends!
I hope you got the reference to Van Halen in my post title. I'm listening to the song right now because it's so fun and reminds me of summer.
Speaking of summer, my heart has fully embraced summertime even though techincally it's still spring. I've bought all my swimsuits (coming soon to a post near you) and I'm planning all our fun getaways.
I had been wanting a Panama hat for a while and finally found one that fits my head (because that is a struggle) and I love it! It's a perfect piece for lounging by the pool or as a fun accent to an outfit. I know I'll get plenty of use this summer.
What's your summer essential? Let me know!

Weekend Outfit: Polka Dots part1

Hey my friends!
Hope you are doing well. Today I bring you the perfect "I want to look cute but also have a stretchy waistband" dress with polka dots. I wore it for our anniversary lunch (paired with my new favorite shoes) and was so comfy the whole time! You all know that's my motto. Comfy, Cute, and Cheap Thrifty. That's me!

Breezy Weekend

Hey my friends!
What is your favorite type of weekend? Super busy? Full of travels? Hanging with friends? Or is it more of a quiet, laid back weekend? Relaxing? Catching up on a good book or napping?
Trick question! They both sound good don't they? Ha! Yeah to me too.
This weekend for me was of the quiet kind; full of napping and staying in to cuddle with my kitty. On Saturday we went to catch an early showing of Guardians of the Galaxy (So funny, Chris Pratt is adorable) and then....I went shopping. *hangs head* There is a Goodwill next to the theater and I couldn't resist!! I have a problem. Anyway, I did pick up some cute things that I will feature in a haul post sometime soon. This top is one of the them. It's a perfect addition to a tank top and shorts to elevate the look without getting too hot. What do you think? Win for me!

Twofer Tuesday

Hey my friends!
Random Tuesday post :-) I hope this week has been kind to you!
Today I bring not one but two outfits that I love. But let me tell you they do not photograph well. Which is a tragedy because they are both super cute. Just use your imagination if you can't tell :-) Both of these looks are all about my favorite trend this summer. Bright colors! I have had so much fun mixing and discovering new color combinations that I'm surprised I was scared to try it before. I can be so lame sometimes.

The first look is more of a fall look (perhaps a London trip look??) but works well for summer too.

The second look (sorry for the photo quality, it was raining outside but I really really want to take pics) features a maxi skirt I found in a little vintage shop in Atlanta. When I saw it, I fell in love. It's so exotic looking! Like Chiquita Banana! All I need are fruits on my head.

Skirt: Goodwill

Black and Blue

Hey my friends!
I love the way this look came out. Super breezy and comfy for running errands and working from home. Another outfit that kinda created itself. If you know me, you realize how happy that makes me!
Another thing that makes me happy is this new spot to take pics! Any bloggers out there know how terrifying it is taking pictures in public places. I don't know what it is that has me running away like a little kid who got caught when someone rounds the corner and there I am posing as if I'm some kinda dwarf model (only 5' 4"). Awkward!! So I am very thankful for this cute, private space behind our new home that lends itself so well to blogger posing. Maybe one day I'll be brave.

Effortless Summer

Hey my friends!
I hope you all are doing quite well. I thought I would share one of the spectacular outfits I put together recently. It sort of came together one day, you know when you step in your closet and you think "What can I create today?". Then you put on a piece and the outfit starts to put itself together? That's what happened! Is this finally me getting the hang of dressing effortlessly???? Let me slow down. I still have a long way to go. But I think this is a good start. The statement necklace and cardigan (hello friend) go together well. I've been trying different color combinations and I think blue and yellow gives a fresh summery feel. What about you? Any cool color combinations you've been discovering lately?
