New Additions: Animal Print

Hey my friends!
Y'all know how much I love shoes right? Of course you do, I can't get enough of them! Looking over my most recent purchases I cannot deny the love in my heart for a good animal print. I'm pretty sure I got this part of my style from my ever so stylish mom! I owe her so much. Here's what I got:

Rampage Leopard Print Flats: I actually bought these from Poshmark! A perfect replacement for the flats I had worn to death.

Lucky Brand Leopard Print Booties:
This was an awesome find in a little second hand shop in Chattanooga. My hubs offered to pay for them as a birthday present. Who am I to turn down free (to me) shoes?

Anne Michelle Snakeskin Pumps: Another birthday present! This time from my mom who offered to pay for them while we were shopping at Burlington Coat Factory. #blessed

Aldo Snakeskin Flats:
Ah these beauties are the result of a trip to Nordstrom Rack with two ladies who encouraged the splurge. Everyone needs good friends like that!

My Bad Habit

Hey my friends!
I thought I would share my most recent shoe haul because I realized that when I get in a shoe shopping mood, I buy all the shoes. Hence the post title. Here's what I picked up!

Call It Spring Chaella Flats in Peach
These pink flats are perfect for spring! So bright and cheerful! I am having a bit of a challenge styling them, however. Wearing them with muted colors makes me look like an upside down highlighter. If I try to pair them with another color, the two colors compete. And don't even get me started on matchy matchy. (bleh) This is why it's never a good idea to buy something without knowing how you will be wearing it. Will I ever learn? Probably not. So, any suggestions?

Call It Spring Juliet Flats
Perfect quirky sneakers for spring and summer! I know I'll be getting a lot of good use out these babies. FYI, they're currently on clearance. Y'all know I love a good deal!

Old Navy Color-Block Sandals in Tan
So I bought these sandals from Old Navy, thinking that they would be perfect for spring. Then I tried wearing them a few times and now I feel like I should save them for summer. Something about the color says beach/pool party/lakehouse rather than Easter Sunday. What do y'all think?

Michael Antonio Violet d'Orsay Pumps in Animal
These Pumps.
Look. At. Them.
Not ashamed to say that I regularly just gaze at them in my closet lovingly. So feminine. So powerful. This is shoe royalty. I found them while just browsing through Nordstrom Rack and I fell in love. And then I saw the price. $8.85. I LOVE A GOOD DEAL!! Unfortunately, I got the last pair so y'all can't share in the euphoria that owning these shoes bring. (Am I being dramatic? Nawwwww)

That's all for now my loves. Sorry for the abrupt ending but honestly how do you follow up after that?

Summer Hauls

Hey my friends!
So this post was very much the opposite of the last one. But what is life but yins and yangs? I think I might just be trying to make myself feel better because I really wasn't supposed to buy any of this stuff. You'll soon see why I couldn't resist.

Marshalls

Goodwill

J Crew

Eddie Bauer

Liz Clairbourne

H&M

Forever 21

Target

Such great stuff right? I really love the things I got from Goodwill (although I love them all). There is something about sifting through all the junk to find that one gem that everyone else missed. It's such a thrill!
I can't say that I won't buy anything next month because I'm going to London with my brother and obviously* I have get something right??

*in my best Snape imitation.

Girlfriend Clothes Swap 2014

Hey my friends!
Sooooo by now this is old news since I took a hiatus to move into a new place ( I always forget how stressful that is. Like "I'm ready to burn all this junk" kind of stressful) Thankfully the hubs and I have mostly settled in and I can get back into my normal groove again.
This haul post is brought to you by the girlfriend clothes swap! Have any of you ever done this? You and a bunch of friends get together with all the clothes you no longer want (respectively) and viola! No better example of one person's trash is another person's treasure. It's a great way to freshen up a wardrobe without spending anything. Well maybe something ( I did buy a bottle of wine for the event).

Here are my picks!

The trousers are from Paris!!

No matter your size, accessories always fit!

I'm pretty happy with everything. I'm grateful my friends have such great taste!

Adding More Color

Hey my friends!
This past weekend I attempted thrifting for the first time. This is definitely not to say that I have never been in a Goodwill or Salvation Army before. My mom used to take us there for back to school shopping (she is the one who taught me the love of a good bargain). I even shopped there in my high school/college days back when random graphic shirts were all anyone was wearing... Now that I truly think about it, I supposed I've been "thrifting" all my life. So forget my first sentence.

I got some colorfully darling things this weekend at enviable prices. On Friday afternoon, my boss told me that the Target near our office was closing. True Target lover that I am, I lamented for a few minutes until she told me that everything already on clearance was an additional 30% off! So here's what I got after work:
So the Star Wars shirt was not on sale but it was Star Wars weekend and I had a gift card. Only $19 for everything!

Then Saturday afternoon, I headed to the Goodwill store (inspired by the Goodwillista) to find some new goodies. I was quickly surprised at how much stuff I eventually piled into my cart. I can only imagine why people donate some of the stuff they do, but I was very grateful for it! Only $20 for everything! The only thing not pictured is a cute cardigan that I will include in one of my outfit posts this week.
Yes, those are pears on those shorts. Adventurous!
I don't know who would willingly give this skirt away. This picture does not give it justice. Creamy lace, gorgeous!!

Finally, I thought I would upload pics of me and my twist out (I couldn't wait another week for it)! That's all for now. Thanks for reading!

Happy Easter! My haul for this week

Hey my friends!
I promised a blog post today and I'm sorry it's so late. As predicted, the weekend was insane. It was fun, but insane. I hope you all had a great holiday as well.

I wanted to share the pretty things I added to my closet this week. I don't know about you but when the season changes I feel like I need a wardrobe change. For the sake of my hubs sanity though, I limit myself to a few things each month. For the sake of time I'll share only four of my favs. (But honestly everything I got was my favorite. I get excited about new goodies)

For work I got this uber cute (yes uber, let's resurrect that little gem of a word) polka dot swingy dress. I got several compliments when I wore it to the office. It flatters me where I want to be flattered and hides my trouble spots. It's perfect for when I'm tired or rushed but still want to look amazing. The shoes I got on sale from hm.com ($15 y'all. I couldn't pass it up).I plan on wearing them tomorrow with a midi skirt. They're a sexy accent to my shoe collection.

This weekend, my girlfriends and I are heading to the sun drenched sands of Grayton Beach, Florida. It will be nice to get away from it all, especially our husbands! (jk babe) I've been needing a big floppy hat for sun bathing. While I love soaking up some vitamin D, my skin gets so dark so fast. Hopefully this hat will prevent me needing to buy darker foundation!
The swimsuit is my favorite acquisition of the weekend. One of my friends noticed my struggle to find a cute top that also gives adequate support. She is a self proclaimed "swimsuit snob expert" and was so sweet to help me find this awesome two piece. I admit it cost more than I normally would pay for a bikini but believe me; it is worth it. I have never felt so amazing. Ladies, if you struggle to find tops or bottoms that flatter you, I highly recommend La Blanca swimwear! I already have plans to buy another top soon.

Successful haul, yeah? Until next time my friends!
