Pattern Mixing 101

I LOVE this look. I actually discovered it in the Target dressing room. I was wearing this dress with a different very plain cardigan while shopping when I picked this one up. When I tried it on over the dress, I was shocked at how great they looked together! I wish pattern mixing always came this easy. Annnndd if you happened to notice, there is another pattern thrown in there! I'm outta control! Do you see it? First person with the correct answer gets no prize of any kind.

One Dress Two Ways: London Edition

Hey my friends!

I hope this Wednesday finds you well. So I was all excited to put together European outfits and take advantage of the glorious 60 degree weather. Fall weather people!! Atlanta still hasn't gotten itself together and fall-ified yet. I thoroughly enjoyed myself the whole time. So much so that I forgot to take pictures while I was there. Sorry my loves, complete brain fart. So here are two of my favorite outfits I wore on a day I need to be casual and then more formal. It's one dress. Such a comfy one too! During the day, I paired it with a tribal patterned cardigan, lace tights, and some short black booties. Perfect for walking around town, snapping photos, shopping, etc. 

Later that night we went to see Wicked (It was amazing) and I wanted to look a bit more formal. I swapped my cardigan for a sparkly black sweater and my short black booties to short black heeled booties. Swiped some red lipstick and I was good to go! 

I love how versatile the dress turned out to be. It saved me some room in my suitcase as well as made me feel almost like a professional stylista. A girl can dream. 

I wish I could go on and on about my trip to London. It was so much fun and there were so many fun things we did. One fun tidbit from our trip. I discovered the Harrods Shoe Heaven. Life Changed.

Lace on Lace

Hey my friends!

I hope you had an awesome weekend filled with fun things! Mine was pretty chill but it's nice to relax every now and then. And by relax I mean watch Netflix for hours on end. I need to make a point of reading more. Any good summer reads I should pick up?

Aaaaanyway, Saturday the hubs and I went out to dinner and a comedy show to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was supposed to rain later that night so I donned my favorite boots to keep my tootises dry. I don't actually own rain boots, I feel like they limit my outfit choices. But that's just me. At first I was worried that I was wearing too much lace and that I would look like a doily. But I think it turned out ok especially toughed up by my denim vest. What do you think? It's a win for me!

The Mustard Cardigan

Off for some raw fish! Delish!

Happy Wednesday! The hubs and I decided to have our date night tonight since this Easter Weekend we will be busy hanging with family and friends. It's so important that we have our alone time together.

I threw my outfit on in a hurry after work (I was starving) and I think it came out pretty well. I love how it puts together pieces that I love individually without the entire thing being overwhelming.
My lace tights make me feel sexy (good vibes for date night) without being hookerish. They are actually pretty warm as well, who knew?
The black and gold crossover purse was found in a vintage store in London. (If you are ever in Camden Town check out the Rockit store. It's lovely.) It's a classic piece. I will have it forever.
The floral skirt is gorgeous even though it is kinda short in the back (hence why it is a date night skirt), another vintage find.
The ankle boots are so cute and comfortable that I am guilty of wearing them two days in a row when I didn't have to!

But oh:

The Mustard Cardigan -This is my favorite cardigan. The shade is everything I need in the color yellow. Bright enough for spring and summer; mellow enough for fall and winter. It's perfect. Well, almost perfect. I bought it at Rugged Warehouse, which specializes in overstock and clothing with irregularities. So when I got it, I had to resign myself to the fact that I would never be able to button it up since the button holes don't line up with the buttons. I couldn't care less. I love it.

So what do you think? Hit or a Miss? Since I was able to incorporate my beloved cardigan, it is a win in my book.
