New Additions: Animal Print

Hey my friends!
Y'all know how much I love shoes right? Of course you do, I can't get enough of them! Looking over my most recent purchases I cannot deny the love in my heart for a good animal print. I'm pretty sure I got this part of my style from my ever so stylish mom! I owe her so much. Here's what I got:

Rampage Leopard Print Flats: I actually bought these from Poshmark! A perfect replacement for the flats I had worn to death.

Lucky Brand Leopard Print Booties:
This was an awesome find in a little second hand shop in Chattanooga. My hubs offered to pay for them as a birthday present. Who am I to turn down free (to me) shoes?

Anne Michelle Snakeskin Pumps: Another birthday present! This time from my mom who offered to pay for them while we were shopping at Burlington Coat Factory. #blessed

Aldo Snakeskin Flats:
Ah these beauties are the result of a trip to Nordstrom Rack with two ladies who encouraged the splurge. Everyone needs good friends like that!

Tuesday Blues

Hey my friends!
I hope this week is finding you well! My week is starting off pretty hectic/stressful but by the end I'll be sipping on something cold with my toes in the sand. I wish every week could end like that!
Normally when I have a hectic day at work, I take some time to browse through the closest mall on my lunch break. That can be both a good and a bad thing. Bad for my bank account but good for my soul. Retail therapy is a thing, friends. It was on such a trip that I found these shoes. It definitely made my day a little brighter to bring these babies home with me!
Is there any you do when stressed? When I'm not near a mall I love to crank up some music and dance like crazy. Try not smiling while you do that. Impossible.

One Dress Two Ways: London Edition

Hey my friends!
I hope this Wednesday finds you well. So I was all excited to put together European outfits and take advantage of the glorious 60 degree weather. Fall weather people!! Atlanta still hasn't gotten itself together and fall-ified yet. I thoroughly enjoyed myself the whole time. So much so that I forgot to take pictures while I was there. Sorry my loves, complete brain fart. So here are two of my favorite outfits I wore on a day I need to be casual and then more formal. It's one dress. Such a comfy one too! During the day, I paired it with a tribal patterned cardigan, lace tights, and some short black booties. Perfect for walking around town, snapping photos, shopping, etc.
Later that night we went to see Wicked (It was amazing) and I wanted to look a bit more formal. I swapped my cardigan for a sparkly black sweater and my short black booties to short black heeled booties. Swiped some red lipstick and I was good to go!
I love how versatile the dress turned out to be. It saved me some room in my suitcase as well as made me feel almost like a professional stylista. A girl can dream.
I wish I could go on and on about my trip to London. It was so much fun and there were so many fun things we did. One fun tidbit from our trip. I discovered the Harrods Shoe Heaven. Life Changed.

Currently Craving: Shoesssssss

Hey my friends!
This is not a sponsored post so don't turn away. Have you ever been on a diet and in the middle of said diet you start to crave the worst things possible to consume? Like fried ice cream dripping with chocolate sauce? (uhh hungry right now). I'm kind of going through that right now. I'm not dieting but I am setting some financial goals for the near future that have me in a spot that feels tight. I know it's not really. I know where my money is going...... it's just not going to the things I need want right now. That my wonderful readers is why I am posting about all the shoes that I want and do not yet have in my closet. Maybe this will help with the pain. Or maybe it will exacerbate it, who knows?

First up!
The staple that should be in every girl's closet is alas not in mine. Since summer is nearly over (when did this happen??) I'm keeping an eye out for some on deep discount. No luck so far.

Next:
This is shameful. Leopard print is my absolute favorite print and yet I have no leopard print pumps. I've been able to get away with some very well loved flats in this print but would love to broaden my outfits with some cute pumps.

Next:
Despite the silly name (I mean really shootie? Sounds violent if you ask me) I'm really craving some of these as they seem perfect to pair with rolled up jeans, midi skirts, skater dresses, etc. Basically all the things I love to wear. I may have to make an exception on this one as these are currently on sale for $15. Uggghhhh, the temptation!

Last:
Ok. So not really. This is so far out of my price range it might as well be a space shuttle. But it's nice to look at it isn't it?

That's it for now. I think I did find this to be a bit cathartic. Even though none of these shoes are in my shopping bag, it was great sharing them with you. By the way, each shoe title is a link to the website if you like anything you see. And again this is not a sponsored post, I just like to share.

Mother's Day Weekend

Hey my friends!
I feel like it's been awhile. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend with your mothers or those most like mothers in your life!

Not only did I spend the weekend with my awesome mother and mother in law; I also went to a crawfish boil and binged on Netflix spent some quality time with the hubs. Here are some pics from the rather rainy, cloudy weekend:

Me and my mum. You can tell exactly where I get my smile from!

I wore the Merona cardigan I got from Goodwill last weekend and paired it with my cobalt shoes (Old Navy) and peacock earrings (gifted). I'm really loving this look!

But can I tell y'all about this crawfish boil?? I've eaten crawfish before and recently had a restaurant style crawfish boil experience (The Crab Shack outside of Savannah, Ga. Try it out if you're ever nearby!). But I have never been to a true, Louisiana boil. My friend's parents brought everything up from their home in South Louisiana and showed us how it's done. The boil included onions, garlic, corn, potatoes, celery, sausage, mushrooms, spices (like spicy spices), and of course crawfish. When they were done cooking, we tossed everything out on two tables and stuffed our faces. My life will never be the same. Everything was amazing! If you don't have friends from Louisiana that you can ask to do this, make some. Trust me.

Finally, I have to show you what happened to my hair that day (the last of the twist out). It was incredibly humid out so... fluffy city!! I got several compliments on it so I'm cool with it.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading!

Quick! It's the Sun!

Hey my friends!
Sorry about the time between posts. Not only is life a little crazy but it's been raining and cloudy since Sunday. I literally yelled, "It's the sun! The sun's out! Pics!" to my hubs this afternoon. I think there was a 30 minute window of sunshine before the clouds rolled back in.

Anyway, enough about my sunshine deficiency. I been wanting show off my twists! I love them and I hate them. I hate them because they take forever to do. My hair is so thick that it now takes me about 3 or 4 hours to complete. I don't know about you, but I don't usually have a straight 3 or 4 hours to spare. I love them though because they stay for at least two weeks and give me a glorious twist out. (Pics of said twist out coming to you next weekend!)

Notice anything familiar about my outfit today? Yep, my old friend is back. Despite the sun coming out, today is still a bit too chilly for my taste (60 degrees? Take me back to the beach!!). Today I paired my favorite cardigan with a floral shirt (Marshalls), skinny jeans (Old Navy), and ankle strap flats (Charlotte Russe). I'm not sure what to think about this ensemble. I love the colors but I think maybe the shirt is too billowy for my body type. Or at least to be worn this way. Looks like more experimentation is in order!

The Mustard Cardigan

Off for some raw fish! Delish!

Hey my friends!
Happy Wednesday! The hubs and I decided to have our date night tonight since this Easter Weekend we will be busy hanging with family and friends. It's so important that we have our alone time together.

I threw my outfit on in a hurry after work (I was starving) and I think it came out pretty well. I love how it puts together pieces that I love individually without the entire thing being overwhelming.
My lace tights make me feel sexy (good vibes for date night) without being hookerish. They are actually pretty warm as well, who knew?
The black and gold crossover purse was found in a vintage store in London. (If you are ever in Camden Town check out the Rockit store. It's lovely.) It's a classic piece. I will have it forever.
The floral skirt is gorgeous even though it is kinda short in the back (hence why it is a date night skirt), another vintage find.
The ankle boots are so cute and comfortable that I am guilty of wearing them two days in a row when I didn't have to!

But oh:

The Mustard Cardigan -This is my favorite cardigan. The shade is everything I need in the color yellow. Bright enough for spring and summer; mellow enough for fall and winter. It's perfect. Well, almost perfect. I bought it at Rugged Warehouse, which specializes in overstock and clothing with irregularities. So when I got it, I had to resign myself to the fact that I would never be able to button it up since the button holes don't line up with the buttons. I couldn't care less. I love it.

So what do you think? Hit or a Miss? Since I was able to incorporate my beloved cardigan, it is a win in my book.

Bright Addition

Hi my friends!

First pic post! I'm pretty camera shy and my hubs says that I'm a terrible model but I am determined to show what my actual style is. I love Polyvore (obviously since I've mentioned them in all my posts so far) but it can only go so far. The sets can't really show how an outfit actually looks on me.

Today is casual Friday at work so I decided to keep it simple. The shirt and slacks are incredibly comfortable and both are from Marshalls. (That place is amazing and most of my clothes come from there) I don't remember where I picked up my shoes but I love them. My coworkers seem to love them too. They add just enough punch to take this outfit from normal to memorable. Even though they are pretty high (almost 5 inches) they are also incredibly comfortable. I usually wear them under maxi dresses or wide leg pants but I think I will try to come out of my comfort zone and style them with shorter skirts or dresses. I'll have to experiment with that to make sure I don't look like a hooker.

What do you think? Hit or Miss? I felt confident all day so in my book this is a win!
